Maybe you have a trip planned and there's a layer missing. Or you froze your butt off on that early start last winter and swore you'd fix it before the next one. Or maybe you've just worn out those shell pants.
a thousand layers, a million variations, and endless technical promises. New collections, fashionable drops, seasonal colors, black November and online outlets. And on top of that — expert jargon, influencer marketing, YouTube reviews, Reddit gurus and brand campaigns.
If you've done your research, it gets a bit easier. But then the mid layer that worked so well with your puffy has been replaced with something different. Two years later you want matching pants and they don't exist. The materials differ, the black is a different black, and the zippers keep rubbing against each other. Then there's the money. Buy now at a premium, and feel like an idiot when the price drops. Or wait a few months for "the deal", and end up with a color you didn't really want. Pull the trigger, and you're still stuck in a loop that means you'll do it all again next time.

Like with cameras: buy the body now, a new lens in two years and a flash down the line. It's logical, made to customize and easy to upgrade. A system you can invest in, with timeless, technical layers that complement each other, work across seasons, and still look right in the lift line next year — and the year after that.
When you're inside the machine, all you want to do is put out new stuff. "Last year's products are for last year's snow." People actually said that. We did too, and it took us years to see it. So we decided to build the opposite: a Modular System — technical layering made easy, and built to last.
So what's the difference? What do we do that others don't?
No stores, so nothing that needs a new collection every season. Traditional retail runs on a constant influx of new products. It's not a choice for the stores — they need a reason for customers to come back every season. So the brands supply it: new styles, new colors, new arguments. And it doesn't matter if they're actually new as long as they can be marketed as such. Selling direct means we decide when to keep, update or replace a product. Brands built for retail can't do what we do, and we can't do what they do.
Five layers, each with a specific job. Base layers that move moisture, shell layers that protect from the elements, and mid and insulation layers depending on the activity. From light, fast and breathable — to hybrid padding and ultralight warmth. Add a lofty belay layer on top and you're prepared for the summits. Every product we create is built to be part of a modular layering system you can customize, add to and upgrade. Over time.
The jacket you buy today still fits, works and looks right with the pants you bought two years ago. We only change a design when we can actually improve it, and we keep the colors going for years. Eventually we retire a product and an updated version takes over — that's why they have version numbers — but the new jacket comes in the same signature colors, still looks right with the system you already own.
No seasonal collections means no seasonal sales, so there's no Black Friday coming. A price only drops when a product retires to the archive. And a system is based on discipline — so we deliberately keep our range small. You don't need a different shell jacket for every activity you do. So we're not going to make them. And if you want a new look every winter, that's ok. But maybe we're not the shop you're looking for.
Start with one layer. Add what you need. Replace what wears out. Keep what doesn't. Build your system over time.
