The new Guide Shell Hybrid Jacket is an ultra-lightweight multi-purpose garment built for ski-touring, ski mountaineering and light-and-fast missions in high alpine terrain. Bridging the gap between backcountry skiing and alpine climbing, the Guide Shell Hybrid concept combines zonal hardshell weather protection and softshell stretchability — providing lightweight versatility, amazing breathability, generous ventilation and unrestricted freedom of movement. All technical features are optimized for when using backpack, harness and other alpine equipment.

    Even though its limited-edition predecessor sold out in a matter of weeks — we decided it was not really what we wanted. We skipped our customary product development protocol, and instead of developing a 2.0 version we went back to the drawing table, creating this new uncompromising ski alpinism concept for our Guide System.

    Perfected for light-and-fast alpine adventures like randonée, backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering, the new Guide Shell Hybrid Concept is an ultra-lightweight combination of softshell and hardshell fabrics, providing exceptional breathability, unrestricted freedom of movement and protection from the elements.

    The Dermizax®Ultralight 3-layer rip-stop hardshell fabric provides extreme weather protection and lightweight durability.

    The newly developed Bluesign-certified softshell fabric combines quick-drying and durable nylon with elastane fibres and a PFC-free DWR treatment.

    This jacket might just be the ultimate fair-weather high-output shell. It feels extremely light on your body, with a fitted ergonomic patterning that, while keeping things tight, allows you to move freely during the climb. The softshell fabric will transfer heat, keeping you cool, while the hardshell panels will take care of unexpected precipitation, extended snow pressure situations, and well-deserved pow shots on the descent. Two large chest pockets will fit a pair of skins and are easily accessed when wearing a harness and a backpack. Large under-arm ventilation zippers provide effective moisture transportation. The oversized hood will fit over your helmet if the going gets though.
    Pair it with our amazing Guide Aerogel Hybrid Hood for some added insulation and you have a combination so comfortable, competent and versatile, you might start using it for more than just ski alpinism.

  • Main fabric: 89 % nylon, 11 % elastane. 207 g/m². 4-way stretch. Bluesign®-certified. Made in Thailand.

    Main fabric denier: 90D * 140D + 90D. (This fabric is as woven fabric in which the warp and weft have different denier numbers)

    Shell fabric: 100 % Nylon with Dermizax™ membrane. 97 g/m².

    Fit: Athletic fit.

    Waterproofness: + 20 000 mm (shell fabric). PCF-free DWR treated main fabric

    Breathability: Good breathability. 20 000 g/m²/24h (shell fabric).

    Garment weight: S 525 g, M 550 g, L 580 g, XL 608 g, XXL 645 g.

    Center back length: S 72 cm, M 74,5 cm, L 77 cm, XL 79,5 cm, XXL 82 cm.

    Hood/collar: Fixed hood adjustable at front with cord lock. Adjustable at back with velcro adjustment. Designed to fit over a climbing helmet.

    Ventilation: Zipped ventilation in sleeve construction. Mesh fabric on inside of chest pockets.

    Pockets: Two large zipped chest pockets.

    Zippers: YKK Zippers.

    Sleeves and cuffs: Cuff openings adjustable with velcro.

    Bottom hem: Slightly dropped bottom hem. Bottom hem adjustable with internal elastic drawstring and cord locks at sides.

    RECCO® Makes You Searchable: Equipped with RECCO reflector at brim of hood.

    You pay what you see. All duties and VAT are included in the total price for your order at checkout.

  • Fine wash the garment in cold water, maximum 30°C, by itself or with other garments in similar colors. Make sure to close all pockets and the front zipper. Do not use fabric softener.
    Hang dry after wash – do not tumble dry or iron.
