How it fits into your System
Down is all about loft. The more it lofts, the more air it traps, and the warmer you stay. Over time, dirt, sweat and body oils can build up in the down and cause the clusters to stick together, reducing loft and insulation performance. A proper wash helps remove this build-up, restoring its loft and ability to insulate.
This Down Wash from Allied Feathers is specially developed for down insulation, gently cleaning the down while helping maintain the natural properties that make down lightweight, warm and packable.
Drying is just as important as washing. After washing, the down needs to be completely dry to fully regain its loft. Tumble drying on low heat helps separate the down clusters and redistribute them evenly throughout the jacket. Even when the outer fabric feels dry, the down can be wet, so make sure it is fully dry before you take it out.
